Of terrestrial animals, caribou travel around 1,200 km (745 mi) annually, though GPS data showed that a Mongolian gray wolf travelled over 7,200 km (4,500 mi) in a year.

But the frequent flyer award goes to the Arctic Tern whose journeys from pole to pole can cover 40,000 km (25,000 mi) per year.
