The America's Cup (aka the Auld Mug) is a sailing trophy and the oldest international competition presently taking place in any sport.

The original name was the "R.Y.S. £100 Cup" first awarded in 1851. The first winner was the schooner "America" representing the New York Yacht Club (NYYC). The trophy was gifted to the NYYC and renamed after the first winner.

The America's Cup has been competed for since that time. Modesty prevents me identifying the country which currently holds the Auld Mug.
