Katherine Mansfield was a modernist writer from New Zealand. She of died of tuberculosis in France in 1923, aged just 34.

Literary modernism occurred around the turn of the 20th century, using different forms of expression which were a break from previous writing modes.

Mansfield is noted for her short stories and poetry.
