Which type of cell in the human body will actually eject its nucleus and organelles to fully mature? Bonus points if you know why... :)

Mature red blood cells do not have nuclei. Upon entering the bloodstream, nuclei and organelles are ejected so that they can accommodate more haemoglobin (and so, more oxygen).

Red blood cells generally survive for 100-120 days.
No Nucleus? No Problem
