On July 22,[6] 1894, the world's first motoring competition, from Paris to Rouen.

The Indy 500 is the oldest race still being competed. The race has been an annual event since 1911. I could not find an annual event older.

According to Guinness, the oldest championship is Turismo Carretera (Argentina) first competed in 1937.
