Juneau, Alaska is the largest with a land area, of 3,255 square miles. For some perspective, Rhode Island covers an area of 1,214 square miles and Delaware is 2,489 square miles.

It may be a pedantic point to some, but the question says capitols, not capitals, with the correct distinction being that the capitol is the building used for the state's legislature, located in its capital city. So, the smallest such *building* appears to be the Legislative Hall in Dover, Delaware, while the largest of these buildings is claimed to be in Austin, Texas (but Charleston, West Virginia says otherwise). There is no handy online list of the floor space in each of these buildings, but there is a graphic showing them all together drawn to the same scale. Further research could reveal larger and smaller floor areas within the capitols. link https://infographicjournal.com/the-50-state-capitol-buildings-of-the-u-s-illustrated-to-scale/
Legislative Hall is approximately 84,850 square feet and is located opposite the Old State House on the mall.

It contains 360,000 square feet (33,000 m2) of floor space (not including the Capitol Extension), more than any other state capitol building, and rests on a 2.25-acre (0.91 ha) footprint.
