The name of this location is a contender for the longest placename in the world.

It is "Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu" (often written without the spaces.)

The meaning translates as:
"the place where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, who slid, climbed and swallowed mountains, known as 'landeater', played his flute to his loved one."

This unassuming hill can be found in the Hawke Bay region of the North Island. Locally, it is just known as Taumata Hill.
