    Question #21552. Joe asks:

Who sings the beautiful song--Don't Worry Baby?

    glasgowcookie

It was written and recorded by the Beach Boys - although I think it was a B-side single.

    Joe

    Which band member sings it?

    Aug 18 02, 3:16 AM
    Brainy Blonde

As you probably know, the Beach Boys are famous for their harmonies, but Mike
Love, cousin to the Wilson brothers is considered the lead vocalist, with the
odd exception. 'Don't Worry Baby' is not one of the exceptions.
How do I know? I've seen them in concert a couple of times, and they were the
only concerts I have ever been to (and I have been to a lot) where the audience
sang along so loud you could barely heard the band's instruments and couldn't
hear them singing at all! I also have a bunch of their albums and at the
following sites, you can listen to clips that make it quite clear it is Love
singing lead on 'Don't Worry Baby.'

I just had a memory flash. I saw Burton Cummings in the same arena a few days
after Elvis died. He did a song in memory and asked everyone for a minute of
silence. There were the better part of 20,000 people there and you could have
heard a pin drop! I have never seen or heard, make that not heard, anything
like it in my life since.
