How old is frodo (in real and in the movie) from the lord of the rigs. and how tall is he. and what's his name?

Question #24529. Asked by student. (Nov 24 02 10:16 PM)

    Gnomon

Frodo Baggins was 50 when he left Bag End to set out on the great journey, according to the book. This is not as old as it sounds, since hobbits lived a lot longer than humans. It is probably the equivalent of about 30 in human terms.

The actor who plays Frodo in the film is Elijah Wood. He was 20 when the first film was made. He is supposed to be 3 foot 6 inches high but is actually of normal height, so special effects are used to make him look smaller.

Frodo was 50 when he left Bag End, but the LOTR opens with Frodo's 33rd birthday, his 'coming of age'. It was 17 years before Gandalf came back and revealed the truth about that nice little ring. The Appendix to LOTR shows that Frodo was born in TA 2968 - the War years begin in TA 3018 - when Frodo sets out.

as a general rule Hobbits don't wear shoes or boots, they have very thick skin covered in thick hair on and around their feet.
