Has Oliver Twist's Fagin got a surname and is it Samuel?

    Question #25907. Asked by Ladybarbara.

    Friar Tuck

Fagin, the sinister villain in Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, was also the name of Dickens' best friend, Bob Fagin http://www.stc.mantech.com/stc/trivia_archive.htm

I have had no luck so far, finding if the character had any other first or last name.

Dickens gave the villain a Jewish name (Fagin is Yiddish for "Son of Faige" - "Son of the bird"), and it is a surname. I thought his given name in the book was Henry, but I could be very wrong.
