The Beatles started off by being called the Quarrymen as this was a derivative of Quarry Bank School attended by John and Paul. They later changed their name to the Silver Beatles, and some time later dropped the Silver to become the world famous Beatles. The rest, as we know, is history.

Starting with The Quarrymen, then Long John and the Silver Beatles, when they went on tour in Scotland with Johnny Gentle. Then just The Silver Beatles, then dropping Silver, for just the Beatles.

One time in 1960, John and Paul hitchhiked to Reading, England, and performed twice at a pub there. They performed as "The Nerk Twins".
