The most notable mention is that the dogs did not bark and raise an alarm when the Hebrew slaves left Egypt. (Exodus 11:7) As a reward for their unusual restraint it has become a nice custom to give any meat which is of questionable kashrus status to dogs to eat. It is assumed that it is hard for a dog to find food and we should be kind to them out of a sense of eternal gratitude.
The only breed of dog possibly mentioned specifically is commonly translated as 'greyhound'. The hebrew word is 'zarzir motnaim' which simply means 'swift moving' or 'girded to the loins' (Proverbs 30:31). 'Greyhound' is therefore a reasonable translation and statues of lightly built sighthounds that resemble greyhounds and Pharaoh hounds have been found in Egypt. 'Warhorse' is one of several other translation so the identity of 'zarzir' is not settled. (Ironically in modern Hebrew this word is used for 'starling'!)
