How many species of animal are there without sweat glands?

Question #53721. Asked by tjoebigham. (Jan 05 05 7:22 AM)

Probably too many to list here. Most cold-blooded animals lack sweat glands. Others like pigs, dogs, rodents, elephants, and most sea creatures (like whales) also lack them. Many cool off with water, mud, or a nice "dust bath". The next time someone tells you they're "sweating like a pig", don't be fooled..:)

literally millions. probably more than 99% of all animals (considering 97% don't have backbones... and then there's fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, and even some mammals)
cockroaches, ladybugs, jellyfish, planarians, worms, etc.
