I only know a few of The Dukes roles and the input of 'John Wayne Villain' to Google, returned exactly what I copied and pasted.
I know him best as Rooster Cogburn, a bumbling nice guy US Marshal.

"The Angel and the Badman" with Gail Russell.
"Stagecoach" as the Ringo Kid.
But--as mentioned---he still comes out the good guy.

In "Cast a Giant Shadow" he plays General Patton, portrayed in a not-very-flattering way. (While Kirk Douglas plays the hero of the story, David Marcus.) But that role was just a cameo, and doesn't really count as one of the big John Wayne films.
