Can fur coats give you allergies?

Many people believe they are allergic to animal hair, but it's not the animal's hair that is the allergen. The allergic reaction is actually caused by a protein present in the dander and saliva of the animal.
These allergens become airborne as microscopic particles, which when inhaled into the nose or lungs can produce allergic symptoms.

Other than that...people can be allergic to just about anything.

Here in Chicago, we don't worry much about fur allergies or the views of the animal rights activists. It's too d****d cold here to bother.
