Saw KISS live in 1976 (Bi-Centennial) at either MSG or Nassau Coliseum I can not recall. Good show! The concert poster had the members costumed in semi-patriotic garb.
I specifically remember Peter Criss (Criscuola) donning a bandaged head and a drum-corps snare hanging off of one shoulder as if he were leading troops into battle.

Right toughy!
"Beth" is a song by KISS that was originally released on their 1976 album, Destroyer. To date, it is their highest-charting single, reaching #7 on Billboard's American charts and attaining gold status. It would be their first, and ultimately final Top Ten single until "Forever" in 1990, which hit #8. http://www.answers.com/topic/beth-song

WAM...I had just finished the fifth grade when the Bi-Centennial rolled in...far too young for concerts at the time but I certainly made up for missing KISS' semi-patriotic garb afew years down the road...I was a 1980's head banger!!
