Is it a half-brother or sister if they have the same mother? Like, if your brother has the same mother as you, but a different father, is he still your 'half' brother? A child with the same father and a different mother is a half, correct?

Correct. People who share one parent, whether mother or father, are half-siblings.

And it makes no difference if you share the same father or the same mother.

Half siblings share either the same mother or same father. They don't share both parents. My mother HATE that word half when talking about a sibling that share only one parent with each other. She thinks your still brother and sisters no matter what.
