Verb. 1. To increase, often with reference to the volume of music.
2. To inject drugs. E.g."He cranked up some more smack (heroin) and passed out on the floor."

It is called crank because in the old days bikers used to hide meth in their bike's crankcases, back when they used to make meth from phenyl-2-propane.
