Can seagulls really eat anything, or is there something that will make them sick?

Gulls are scavengers and will eat almost anything edible or even "inedible" in the case of a rotting carcass. However, they are not immune to toxins, etc.

I personally watched a seagull take a KFC cobbette, set it up lengthwise, take in his beak, pick it up and slide it down it's "gullet" and take off to the other side of a large building.
I'd of stay to watch the rest but watching him eat that cobbette made me hungry for a meatball sandwhich from Herb's.
