Where does the white go when the snow melts?

Well, Snowman, it's all magic. Scientists will tell you the white we see is the reflection of all colors of light mixed together. The ice crystals in a snowflake combine all the colors together, so snow looks white. Raindrops (melted ice) will separate the light into all its various colors, so we see rainbows. Well, as the snow melts, the water droplets scatter the colors back into the world. The blue goes back to the daytime sky. The reds, yellows, purples and greens soak into the ground so the flowers and plants can use those colors when they come out. Any extra colors play hide and seek in the night sky, waiting to appear again as needed. Some of the leftover white is for the stars to use. It's all magic.
