How much water is there in a watermelon?

Several sites note that the percentage is higher, around 92%, and that size isn't a real factor. A ripe melon will bear out fairly consistently in this range, with the less moist areas in the rind, which is also edible if you like watermelon pickles as I do.

The watermelon should be heavy for it's size. Watermelon is 92% water, most of the weight is water.
