My favorite breed is the Pug. I love it's wrinkly face. They can be wild at times though.

Even though I have a Shar-Pei mix and I love her to pieces, my favorite breed is the Doberman Pinscher. I had two dobies in the past and as soon as I have more land for them to roam, I will have more.

I'm very fond of Corgis, Scottish Terriers and Spaniels, but the dog love of my life at present is my granddog, a King Charles Cavalier named Oliver. He's ruby and white and absolutely adorable!

I love Staffordshire Terriers. I can't wait to get one and we will once we get established in our house.

Have owned flatcoated retrievers which are the most gentle of dogs and so easy to train. Also an Afghan which was the opposite - untrainable but sweet natured. My sweet jack russell terrier bitch was the most faithful of friends and broke my heart when I had to have her put down when she was 13... she was tiny, but had the heart of a lion.

Although I'm certain we've had this topic before, I can't find it. Anyway, there is only one breed of dog.
The German Shepherd, and my two in particular.

my sister is on her third golden, so I guess if I had to choos a breed that would be it, they are just so goofy and happy, eternal puppies

We have a Viszla and you couldn't ask for a better dog. Good looking, friendly, gentle and very well behaved.

The flat coated retriever is my favourite and if I could afford one I would buy one. The reason I love them, is because their face resembles my dog Maxx who is a handsome black labrador cross.

I have a white German shepherd. Lord Stanley (born on my birthday) is the third white shepherd we have owned since 1980. Our first was given to us by a friend who had a friend who was moving into an apartment and could not keep
Lady Angelique. General Norman Schwartzkopf came to us several years later as a puppy mill dog from a breeder who could not use him for stud purposes. The cartilege in his ear was damaged and we discovered the dog had been abused. Turns out he was deaf and I actually taught him a bit of sign language.

Sherry, I agree with you about Afghans. Beautiful to look at but as dumb as a sack of hammers! A friend of ours had a pair of the silly things and they literally ran into walls when they were chasing one another.

Tell you what Cym, the funniest thing in the world is going Afghan racing - they stop half way round the circuit to have a play, then are all over the place - hilarious... I used to show mine in puppy classes, but once she got into Juniors, she just played the fool... Called her Biba because she was black and cream.

Lord Stanley is a great name for a dog!

Lot to be said about the owner/dog connection...lol
