Well, I've had both, and many other little critters. A rabbit would suit me better than a hamster, but still not my 'cage creature' of choice. I swear, rats are wonderful pets. They don't bite, can tolerate handling, and they're very entertaining! Reply #1. Nov 01 09, 8:41 PM |

I've had both and I would have to say that a hamster is more suitable for my lifestyle. In my experience, hamsters are much more low maintenance, I once had a rabbit that died after being with us for a year simply because a stranger tried to feed it a carrot. Literally, being fed by a stranger scared it so much that it died. Reply #2. Nov 02 09, 12:11 AM |

As pets I don't see much of a difference, other than size. They pretty much eat and do the same things. Reply #4. Nov 03 09, 2:52 PM |

I perfer a rabbit rather than hamster anyday. I had a rabbit for a pet, however, when my sight started to go; my sister helped me take care of it. Reply #5. Feb 09 10, 9:48 PM |

I would have to say rabbits because I used to show several breeds. Reply #6. Feb 09 10, 11:12 PM |

I have had hamsters and they are fun to watch. I also love rabbits, chinchillas, rats, meerkats and ferrets. Reply #7. Feb 10 10, 1:23 PM |
