more flicker news....Red Bellied Woodpecker knocked him clean off suet cake. RBW is quite a bully. If he is on it, he lets no other bird near it. Reply #4. Jan 05 13, 11:10 AM |

I understand your excitement. Last year we were honored with woodpeckers, a blue jay and even a hummingbird. When the black-capped chickadees showed up, in mass, it was great! Reply #8. Jan 06 13, 11:01 AM |

I'm getting to see more of the black capped chickadees since I moved the sunflower seed feeder up from behind the garage closer to the kitchen sink window. Before, with out binoculars, they were all LDBBs. Reply #9. Jan 07 13, 7:33 AM |

A male flicker occasionally will visit me. I have lots of hoary red polls right now. My little chihuahua thinks he can catch one. Too funny. Reply #11. Jan 08 13, 10:14 AM |

That white starling was out again this morning. Don't know if he's just a sport or the result of the fallout from Fukushima. Reply #15. Jan 20 13, 10:33 AM |

Can you catch a photo of the white starling - that sounds very odd! I saw a goldcrest about a fortnight ago. It was the first time I'd seen one although they are apparently very common. I don't suppose I would have noticed one before though because it was only that it sat at my feet that I could see its startling yellow (gold) head stripe. Probably small for everyone else but it was very satisfying for me. :) Reply #19. Mar 08 13, 12:26 PM |
