We were talking about this very thing last night! It'd be sad to see him go, but with the financial crises facing Liverpool (£300 million debt) and Man United (£650 million debt)...something has gotta give. Seeing how Rooney gets treated everytime he returns to Merseyside, hope Gerrard goes European! Would like to see him and Renaldo on the same side...but then I'm a girl who likes eye-candy:-) Lucky West Ham eh? having some good ole local lads to buy them out (SIGH) Reply #1. Strong rumours in Manchester he's on his way to Old Trafford. The South Stand is being re-roofed and they need an expert in removing lead........! Reply #2. Jan 22 10, 5:49 AM |

Lol, nice one Paul but Michael Owen has already had it. Utd have no money left to pay him with all the debt they have, I think it's about £700m by now. Reply #5. Jan 22 10, 2:32 PM |

Wow! I usually get that via txt from my Liverpool cuz! I'll have to think up a quick joke about it, unless you've heard some already Bernie? (You English are so quick off the mark and funny). He got me when Steve Irwin died, but I got him back with Michael Jackson [all to do with time differences:-)] Reply #7. Jan 26 10, 6:58 AM |

I wouldn't believe the BBC,Sherry. Just spoke to a friend of mine,a season ticket holder at Anfield, and he tells me Messers. Hicks and Gillette already have a new management team ready to step in - Price,Waterhouse,Cooper! Reply #10. Jan 26 10, 7:54 AM |

Anywaaaaay........seriously,Bernie,in answer to your original question: Yes,I think Stevie G will leave Anfield - after the World Cup. Rivalry apart,a move is his only realistic hope of a Championship medal. As to his destination,my bet would be Chelsea,as you say. But I wouldn't discount the pull of Manchester Cilly's megabucks! With the added bonus, for him,he may think he could 'put one over' on United! Apart from those, only two other clubs would be able to afford him - Real Madrid or Barcelona. But my guess would still be Chelsea. Reply #11. Jan 26 10, 10:42 AM |

The problem is that although I want Benitez to go, who do we replace him with. I am of the old school, promotion through the club as in the old bootroom set up and I am against having foreign managers. Phil Thompson performed well when Gerard Houllier was manager and in hospital but that was the last managerial position he had and he has left the club twice under a cloud. So that looks like a non-starter and I am afraid the old days are gone forever except maybe for Kevin Keegan but he has walkawayitis so it will be a big name foreign manager I supose. The only foreign manager I would go for is "The Special One" Jose Mario dos Santos Felix Mourinho who is the manager of Serie A team Internazionale Milano. That would certainly upset Fergie & Wenger, no love lost there. Reply #12. Jan 26 10, 1:27 PM |

Know what you mean about 'the bootroom',Bernie. I heard Senor Benitez has a backroom staff of 29! Cost about £30 Million to get rid of all of them. But what about a certain Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish,M.B.E.? Understand he still lives in the area? Reply #16. Jan 26 10, 2:16 PM |

Yes Kenny would be a very popular choice but he gave it up once ala Keegan. There is another scottish gentleman down the east Lancs road and we do have less debt than they do. Reply #18. Jan 26 10, 2:41 PM |

What,Darren Ferguson? Oh,no,he's up the M6! Or do you mean the jock across Stanley Park? Mr.Moyes? Can't see that - but who knows in football? I can think of one outstanding (IMHO) manager that's currently 'between positions' though - Sparky Hughes! Although I bear him no personal animosity,I was pleased when Manchester Cilly sacked him.He would have won trophies for them! And I'll be equally happy when Liverpool ignore him. :) Reply #19. Keep denying it Rafa, we know you are on your way. In the summer break is favourite. Up to now we have Kevin, Kenny, Alex and son, David and Mark, as replacements, have you any suggestions. My money is still on the "Special One" he wants to get back into English football. Reply #20. Jan 28 10, 10:05 PM |
