there are two if I may: as a previous poster noted, Gil Hodges taking the 1969 Mets from worst to first in the 1969 season and then defeating the heavily favored Orioles to win the World Series-I still have a piece of sod from that day at Shea Stadium (RIP) Bobby Nystrom's goal at 7:11 of overtime against the Flyers to give the NY Islanders the first of what would be 4 consecutive Stanley Cups (and I was there :-) Reply #21. Watching Collingwood win the 2010 AFL Grand Final. The game had to be played twice because the first one was a draw. Reply #25. Jul 03 12, 7:47 PM |

The U.S. Women's National Team winning the first Olympic Soccer Gold Medal in 1996--I was a volunteer at the Stadium and got to see all the semi-final and final matches down at field level. It was an amazing experience! Also--when the U.S. Women beat China in a shootout in the final of the 1999 World Cup. (Had to watch that one on T.V., though.) Reply #27. Sep 21 12, 8:25 PM |
