Actually, I love this time of year. College basketball is my favorite sport and with March Madness approaching, I am quite thrilled. Reply #1. Mar 10 10, 8:56 AM |

For me, it's that time between the NBA Finals and the beginning of college/pro football. Summer doldrums as far as sports go. Baseball is good but 162 games is a lot. And right now, I'm a bit irritated with the Dodgers letting Juan Pierre get away. Maybe with Jeannie McCourt gone, they needed Manny Ramirez around for some estrogen influence in the locker room. Only thing I can think of... ;-) Reply #2. Mar 10 10, 3:22 PM |

I used to until the MLB Network was launched in 2009. Now, I have baseball all year round. Reply #3. Mar 10 10, 4:41 PM |

Opening day isn't far off, and the NFL is uber-hyping the draft. Plenty of off-field/off-diamond drama going on too (Hi Ben Roethlisberger). Starting to get March Madness - ready for the big conference tourneys leading to the dance. Also ready for the NHL playoffs, hoping to see a Cup run out of the Caps. It's the summer that gets me - not really into the NBA, unless the Cavs get back to the finals. Nothing to get up about over pro baseball in MD, both the O's and Nats hope to be competitive (that's a nice way of saying they both s*ck). Would love to see the O's get it together, but Peter Angelos still owns the team. Reply #4. Mar 11 10, 12:39 PM |

I'm a solid baseball fan, so I generally end up wishing I could hibernate from the end of the World Series to the beginning of spring training. Reply #5. Mar 11 10, 2:17 PM |

Right now, just keeping fingers crossed, hoping Kings can get into the playoffs and make a good run. They're playing pretty well right now too. I was happy to see them take Chicago to OT on the road last night. Hawks are a great team, especially at home. Every point helps. Just trying not to jinx it just yet... we're talking about the Kings after all! Reply #6. Mar 11 10, 7:09 PM |

This used to be my favorite time of the year. Imagine being a baseball fan in Montreal in the summer and not having a home team to root for. I'm still not over the Expos being taken away from us. And the biggest myth that I wish would forever be dispelled is that Montrealers only care about hockey... Reply #7. Mar 11 10, 11:29 PM |

I'm getting ready for opening day, one of my favorite days of the year. I used to take opening day off from work so I could watch all the games. I didn't like very much opening the season in another country, not Canada of course, since there is still one team there. Reply #8. Mar 31 10, 7:47 AM |

Where are all the other baseball fans? I realize it's a totally American game and the season just started but no chatter at all? Reply #11. Apr 08 10, 6:35 PM |

Well, I'm a big baseball fan. I wrote in a previous post how bitter I am about Montreal no longer having a team. I still follow MLB nonetheless, I hope the Yankees lose 155 games this year, and that the Pirates and Royals meet in the World Series!...And a reminder that Andre Dawson will officially be inducted into Cooperstown this summer, and he's going in as an Expo! Andre Dawson, what a great player he was. I agree about the Yankees, so tired of getting them shoved down my throat, I live in N.J.(South), but there are still so many fans of the Mets and Yankees here. Of course we get all the Phillies games here but I follow the Oriolesand the rest of my family are Red Sox fans. I still will watch any 2 teams play, just love the game. Reply #13. notaratface - as much as I'd love to see the Pirates in the World Series, I don't think my heart could take it. After 17 years of losing I'm just hoping they can reach 500. Reply #14. Apr 09 10, 7:01 AM |
