Subject: Less Respect for the Yankees

I didn't think it was possible as I am not a Yankee fan, but their head office deserves a huge thumbs down.

Here comes Derek Jeter off the disabled list, three hits away from being the first Yankee in history to have 3000 career hits.

What does the head office do? Raised each ticket price for the next week, anywhere from $20-$45.

The dynasty was "The House That Ruth Built" first, but after that became "The House That Fans Helped Maintain". Shame on the Yankee organization.

That's just naughty!

I love baseball.

I do not love scalpers (in my opinion, that is what they are for raising prices).

I'd bet most teams in the league would raise prices a bit when one of their future HOFers is about to reach a career milestone.

I *am* a Yankees fan ... of the players, and of their history. This is unbelievable. The front office needs to remember that 'it's the fans, stupid'. Instead of raising prices, they should have lowered them, as a show of support.

I feel especially sorry for Jeter, who is well-liked, both on and off the field. *He* cares about both the game, and the fans.

O.K...

According to the NY Daily News, prices have risen in the *secondary* market. Sellers on sites like StubHub are inflating prices.

I didn't realize that Jeter is the first player to reach 3000 hits in a Yankees uniform.

The love of money really does spoil athletics to a degree!

They don't play in the "House that Ruth Built" anymore, they play in "The House the Taxpayers Funded", like with most sports teams.

Nice researching postcards.

The Yankees may have Jeter, but my Royals have the worst pitcher in Major League history:

It's easy being a Yankee fan. Being a Royals fan builds character.

someone has to pay the salaries of those millionaires so they can keep hitting home runs that would be outs in Williamsport
