Subject: Best Tennis game Ever ?

Last night i witnessed what i consider the best game of tennis i have ever seen. Whilst many would be watching the football between germany and Italy, i enjooyed the Tennis.

The match between Lukas Rosol and Raphael Nadal,It was the first time Nadal had lost before the third round of a Grand Slam since he was beaten by Gilles Mueller in the second round at Wimbledon in 2005.

Despite all of Nadals gamesmenship pulling his thong straight, towelling every point and taking longer then what the rules state on serving Rosol played brilliantly, he has now shown what others need to do to beat Nadal.

Yeah it's sometimes good to see the favourites beaten.

Good on Rosol, I bet the Czechs are happy!:)

I hope Rosol gets far in the tournament after beating Nadal! Now Nadal's gone I want Federer to win the tournament

But instead Rosol lost in straight sets in the next round. I agree that these sorts of upsets make the big tournaments much more interesting/exciting, but at the end of the day I think Rosol is just a decent, low-ranking player who picked a great day to play the best match of his life. I only really watched the second and fifth sets but I would hesitate to call it the best match ever. To me, the greatest matches are the best players against each other, a recent example being Nadal and Federer's five-set thriller at the 2008 Wimbledon final.

To me, nothing could match Isner/Mahut--not for the quality of play, necessarily, but for the sheer guts and mental edge that they demonstrated on court. Also, the sportsmanship shown in the match was incredible...if you didn't look at the scoreboard, you'd never know by the players' attitudes that they'd been on court for eleven hours and counting. Cilic and Querrey played an epic 17-15 fifth set this year. That's pocket change to 70-68. There is simply no way that that record can ever be broken.

Now, is Nadal's loss to Rosol the biggest upset ever? You could make the case, but I still think Soderling was bigger, considering it's STILL Nadal's only loss at Roland Garros, ever. That's amazing.

The Rosol Nadal match was interesting because of the toppling of Nadal and the Mahut Isner match was interesting because of the duration, but I wouldn't say the quality of either was the best I've ever seen. My vote would have to go to the 2008 Wimbledon final between Nadal and Federer. The Aussie Open this year was also excellent to watch.

Rosol/Nadal was a good match a bit sad for Nadal but the best game for me is between Federer/Nadal!

Best tennis "game" or "match"? Best tennis "game" in my opinion was McEnroe/Borg's 4th set tie-breaker at Wimbeldon in 1980. The best "match" for me was Federer/Nadal's epic final at Wimbeldon in 2008.

Any tennis match with the comic genius of Mansoor Bahrami is the "Best Tennis game Ever".

Big match for American Tennis today (middle of the night EDT time).

The elder stateswoman Serena Williams takes on the young doe Sloane Stephens in the Quarter Finals of the Australian Open, in a match which could be likening to the passing of the torch or one last lesson to be taught by a great before doing so.

One of the best tennis matches I ever watched was the 1985 Wimbledon final between Kevin Curran and Boris Becker.

That and the 1989 French Open final between Ivan Lendl and Michael Chang
