It is now a week away! I hope everyone is excited. What sports are you watching out for and what country are you supporting?

I'm very excited because I'm going! I'm British so Team GB for me. We're going to the Women's Hockey Final. I realise that the Aussies think they're going to win that but the Dutch are equally certain that they will so I'm hoping they meet each other in the semi-final, letting the GB team sneak through in the other one. ;)

But from my armchair I shall watch it all. Well, maybe not the boxing but as much as possible of everything else. Especially the track cycling. I love that. Oh and the athletics. And the sailing. And... lots and lots. :)

You are so lucky, Flopsy! Just being around the atmosphere is exciting. I was a volunteer for the Atlanta Games (for football) and it was an unforgettable experience. That's my favorite sport, so I'll watch every game televised. But the Olympics is the only time I'll watch sports (like, say, Greco-Roman wrestling) you'd couldn't otherwise pay me to see! I'm really looking forward to the Opening Ceremony. The buzz here in the U.S. is that they are going to be quite spectacular!

I'm stoked and ready for my Olympic fix! Wish I was in the thick of things, but will settle for the telly. I don't think there is any one sport I will not watch, their all exciting in the Olympics! I of course will be cheering on the U.S.A.!

I love the Olympics as well. I'm going for Team Canada... and also Team Paul, referring to Paul McCartney who will be closing the Opening Ceremony in London.

LOL@jabb - a friend of mine is actually going to the Greco-Roman wrestling! He knows nothing about it, it's not a sport we do here but he applied for tickets for it as his "wildcard" and got some! He didn't get tickets for anything he actually wanted to see but he says an Olympic ticket is an Olympic ticket and he's sure it will be good anyway. Tickets for the Games are like gold dust here, most things except the soccer have been sold out for ages. We're also going to the Paralympics in September so that will be good too - we have tickets for athletics at those games.

I've been looking forward to it since 2005 when we were awarded the games and I was lucky enough to get tickets to the handover party in 2008 when Beijing gave the flag to London; the party involved a concert outside Buckingham Palace, 100,000 people were there and it was just fantastic.

Well, I'm certainly envious! I'm ready to get my Olympic fix, though, since the soccer matches start before the opening ceremonies!

I hope New Zealand cleans up in the rowing- we can win a few medals there. We have the world champion womens shot-putter as well!

Two late entries in the men's boxing competition. David Cameron representing England and Mitt Romney representing the USA. To your corners gentlemen.

A great choice of Lauren Jackson as Australia's 'flag-bearer'.

She's one of the best sports players in the world.

And at the final whistle. First ever victory for the Black Sticks (1-0) over the Hockeyroos at the Olympics.

Mitt would throw a punch and then flip-flop and change his mind before it landed.

Barack Obama would lecture everyone on the evils of fighting then cold-cock the guy when he wasn't looking.
