Long time N.Y. Met announcer and Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner has passed away at age 91. A fan favorite and a class-act on and off the field, R.I.P.

Sorry to hear that. He was a great ballplayer.

I liked him as the Mets announcer.

He's my second favorite NY baseball announcer, behind the one and only Phil "The Scooter" Rizzuto. Bill White ranks up there as well, and Frank Messer was good too, along with Bobby Murcer.

That was a great time, even for a non Yankee fan like myself, to listen to the games in the 80's with those 4 and Kiner for the Mets, also not a Mets fan, especially alongside another great Tim McCarver.

I feel bad for Ken Singleton being the lone voice of reason left in Yankee broadcasting.

Let me walk down memory lane a bit more.

I've never seen it since like what the 1980's Yankee announcers would do, where every 3 innings one person from the radio and one from the T.V. booth would swap places, and they all worked great together.

I have listened to Ralph Kiner since I became a Met Fan in 1966. While he was the master of the malaprop, if you paid attention you learned a great deal. RIP Ralphie you will be sorely missed
