Is he related to Al Green as I just heard him on the radio and they sound very similar, but he's been around for ages. Reply #22. Mar 07 13, 7:24 PM |

I haven’t had teddy grams for a while, but when I used to go to the mall I’d buy the chocolate teddy grams. Regular are fine, too, and I use those in my party mix, but I do miss the chocolate (waiting for the day I can buy some). Don’t ask me why, but any mention of “Back at One” causes me to have a screaming fit. “**’Don’t… *mention…” well, you get the point. I don’t understand, because I used to like the song—and I don’t think there are any unpleasant memories associated with the song, the way there are with “I Knew I Loved You” and “Amazed.” Speaking of Justin Bieber, I liked some of his older stuff—and even have his first two albums. The newer ones to me are… annoying. I really like a variety of music genres and artists. Why edo we young folks push the limit? “Sleep? I don’t need no sleep!” (Sorry this is so long - I didn't see this until just now) Reply #30. Mar 08 13, 3:11 PM |

salami_swami, in one of his magnificent blogs wrote "I fear for 40 or 50 or 60..." At your age, you have so much time left on this earth, Lord willing, that you have very little if anything to fear. When I was much younger I very rarely thought about getting older. Hitting 50 started a small thought about it. And as I am getting older, that thought creeps in a little more often. Near the end of this month, I will be 65. Even hard for me to believe. But as the saying goes, "It is what it is." Here is a thought for you my friend. You will never be the youngest person on this planet, nor the oldest. You will be as most of us will be, in that vast expanse called "The Middle." Reply #33. Mar 08 13, 8:01 PM |

Well, speaking as someone who lives with nocturnal teenagers, I'd rather you played quietly on a game than cooked at 3am. Are you listening, Nerdlet? Maybe it's a good thing that the rules on gun ownership are tight over here, shot for steaming and sushi-creation at an ungodly hour. :D Reply #34. Mar 08 13, 11:57 PM |

Why is being chronologically old seen in a negative light? I've met numerous people in their twenties who were far more conservative and stagnant of thinking than some 80 year olds of my aquaintance. And several who were less fit! Reply #36. Mar 09 13, 3:28 AM |

That's my goal - less stagnant and more fit. Reply #37. Mar 09 13, 5:48 AM |

Salami_swami, you and the others have brought up some very interesting thoughts about age. Yes, what you wrote could be possible and time will tell. Day by day, I believe is the way to go. I looked up the word age and it covers quite a bit (a little to much to list here.) Made for some interesting reading and I will go over it a few more times. Reply #38. Mar 09 13, 8:59 AM |

It is so nice to know (according to Salami_Swami) I am not old at almost 70. Yay! Reply #39. Mar 09 13, 9:48 AM |

Same here, Jabberwok. One of my penn pals is 80 years old, and still has his faculties. There’s an 85-year-old in my building who’s simply darling to talk to (quite a refreshing change to some of the people here). One of my friends, unfortunately, has mental issues and is diabetic (at 30). If anyone has a goal to be stagnant, he or she deserves a slap up beside the head. I once had a roommate in hospital who was 90. Sweet old lady, with a lot of spunk. Wouldn’t have called her old for anything. I know a kid (I consider him one even though he’s 18 now) who considers me old, and has since a young age (in fact, when I was 21 and he was 9 he told me I was “old and extra pasty). Wonder if his view has changed at all over the years. Reply #40. Mar 10 13, 12:13 PM |
