Subject: Salami's Blog-Pourri

Posted by: salami_swami
Date: Mar 07 13

I've never had a blog before. So, here goes nothing.

I'll talk about everything, especially when I'm bored. Food, games, movies, music, what I'm doing, etc. I don't have Facebook or Twitter, either, so this is my everything now. :D

Also, feel free to ask me questions, join in my discussions, etc. It's a free-for-all.... And I'd really like other people's input on some topics.

Age is but a number. I get along with older ones better than those my own age. The older one becomes, the wiser they are. So much fun to hear their life experiences.

Watched "Chasing Mavericks" again this weekend. I don't see why it failed in box office. It's wonderful; and has Elizabeth Shue and Gerard Butler!

I like it, I had bought it a few days ago so had to watch it. I also bought "Brave" and "Wreck it Ralph", and a 40 inch TV. :)

Music Post:

I am now currently listening to Basshunter, "Angel in the Night".

Anybody here like Basshunter? I think he rocks! Plus, I can sing two songs in Swedish.... Which is cool. ;)

I've had quite a lot of life experiences but I've never had a 40-inch telly!

That's a big TV, all right :)

Mine's not quite that size, as I don't need one that big - but I'm told the picture is good... and the sound's great, so that's all that matters to me.

I had a small TV, the smallest they come nowadays, and when I had a friend over to play Halo, I realized it was far too small.

So, with that, I went to buy a cheap and big TV. An LCD 40" Westinghouse was on sale for cheaper than any other LED 32" TVs that I could find. Which didn't make sense, since it's LCD not LED (usually more expensive) and 40" instead of 32" (also, obviously, normally more expensive). So I bought it. :D

My friends won a Scrabble tournament in town, won a 50 dollar gift card. Still in the running for an iPad mini. They will sell it and split the money they make off of it. I'm hoping to buy it and give one of them my iPad though. lol

Come Sail Away - Styx

Good song.

Nothing really to report. I'm boring right now, I'm sure. ;)

Boooooooop. Welcome to the 11:17 news. I'm Salami. Our top story today is actually about a dreidel.

Imagine, by John Lennon.

It's a great song, which also has the potential for quite a discussion about it's meaning. Thoughts, comments?

One thing's for sure... Lyrics in Lennon's time had a lot more meaning than songs today for the most part.

I don't know about that, Salami. "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" was a Lennon-McCartney song. Quite violent, and of questionable value.

Going further back, who *cares* if your chewing gum loses its flavour on the bedpost overnight?

Probably, bad/silly/good/thought-provoking songs exist in each era.
