Subject: Christmas Spirit or Bah Humbug?

Posted by: 13LuckyLady
Date: Dec 19 16

I have zip for Christmas spirit this year.

Nada!

People don't seem to be enjoying the holiday or what it entails (from seeing the faces of shoppers and overhearing their comments).

How are you managing to get in the mood for the season?

I was born a curmudgeon.

It would help if stores didn't start with the holiday themed stuff in September. It's like over-loading on anything... after a while, you're over it.

Bah Humbug!

Bah Humbug, I have dialysis on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I have an appointment at the vascular clinic on the Friday before Christmas to see if my new graft is ready for dialysis needles. This is for my lifetime. is not fun, but necessary. We will do everything for Christmas but my heart isn't in it.

postie, curmudgeon?

Not likely...you are always kind to me.

honeybee4, I understand. I am happy you are with us to (un)celebrate.

I've been reading stories about people doing for others during holiday season.

So far, a woman from TX missed her plane to help a young man returning home for Christmas.

A police officer pulled over a young man to issue a warning about speeding. Instead, the officer taught the young man how to tie a tie as the young man had a presentation he was conducting. The officer did tell him to slow down.

My not making my goal of winter scarves for others is weighing on my heart. My hands refused to cooperate and due to preventing faceplants for Christmas, my body is not a friendly place.

Sigh.....time to realize we all do what we can, and need, during this time of year.

We are awesome after all!

Bit of both for me also....my darned Doctor has slapped a blood test on me for the 28th, half way between Christmas Day and New Year.....results will reveal the state of my diabetes, so I am not going to be able to eat all the goodies that come with Christmas for fear of coming up with too high a reading. :(

There are some shops in my town who have absolutely NO Christmas spirit at all. Take my local Target store for example. I've not been in there recently but my mum told me they've already taken down all their Christmas decorations and are starting to stock "Back to School" things. Very disappointing.

Anyway, hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy (and safe) New Year.

C30 - not fair! I am sad, and sorry, you are both ill.

While we were out yesterday, many shoppers were coughing and sneezing.

We fled back to the house.

I hope you are both well soon! Next year for Christmas....for you both...good health and NO colds!
