It happens to quite a few teams-- people move on, find new paths in life, or simply need change. I've been on several teams over the years. My suggestion is to go where life (on or off FT) takes you and enjoy the ride. If you feel like your team isn't what it once was and you're not inclined to hang around waiting, there's no reason not to try something new. You'll always have the memories of the team (and, presumably, friends from it); now's the chance to make new ones. :) Reply #1. Mar 30 13, 7:38 AM |

I have the same problem with The Sports Fanatics, a team I inherited the lead for about a year ago. At one time we had 10-12 posters, we are now down to 3-4 and it's too bad. But as Kylie said, folks move on. You'd be more than welcome to join us, as the few folks who post are great guys and the few of us post daily on about 6 topics at the moment. I don't bother posting any more new ones because I know I'm not going to get much response. As long as we have quality, maybe not the quantity I'd like, I'm OK with just posting with the other few who enjoy doing so. We'd welcome you. paulmallon/The Sports Fanatics Reply #2. I inherited the leadership of my team when our captain left abruptly without notice or explanation to anyone. As in your experience, our team was once more active, but several of the more active players left, and I have been trying to revive the spirit that once was there. We do have a small core of good people who play regularly and are loyal team members, so I don't regard the situation as hopeless, but the majority of people on the team are anonymous and don't seem to want to be involved. I have changed the team description to stipulate that playing and interacting are expected of team members, and I have written to members individually to try to entice them to greater involvement. I have seen some small flickers of interest so far, but no major change as yet. I am determined to keep on trying, though. Reply #3. Mar 30 13, 11:48 AM |

It was nice to get some response here, thanks guys. I inherited my team also, and we do have a few players who have been around for a long time who play but don't usually chat. Like you say people move on, and yes I have made a couple of real nice friends who I keep some contact with. Happy Easter all. Reply #4. Mar 30 13, 12:31 PM |

I do not mean to hijack your question, but I have been looking for a thread about team leaders, and this is the closest thing i have seen. I also inherited a team less than a year ago. Are there guidelines someplace telling me what I am supposed to be doing? I worry I am a bad team leader. Reply #5. Mar 30 13, 2:53 PM |

I've never seen any guide lines anywhere. I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong.. Maybe we should start a whole new team for lonley team leaders. Reply #6. Mar 30 13, 7:52 PM |

That is a great idea! Here are the only things I have been doing: I send out one team message a month I invite new members to join on the join a team board (this actually works, for those looking for new members, give it a shot) I send a welcome note to new members I know - that is not much- hence my concern. Other ideas? Reply #8. Mar 30 13, 10:45 PM |

What else do you think you could do for the team, boredinVA? You can't force them to post in the chats or engage in team activities. Relax and enjoy Fun Trivia. Stressing over it all takes away the fun. Reply #9. Mar 31 13, 8:23 AM |

Don't feel alone. Same with my team. I was once on a really great team, but it somehow fractured. Now it is three teams. I have no answer, but I know your dilemma. Reply #11. Mar 31 13, 5:49 PM |

My team, THE LIGHTHEARTED, #31021, is looking for people who want to play FT and interact as a team. I would really like it if our team started posting more. Reply #12. Mar 31 13, 8:00 PM |

What is the fuss about the teams? I have my own team now and membership has steadily grown. All are welcome to join and participate as much as they like. Reply #13. Mar 31 13, 10:04 PM |

Could you offer some constructive tips and advice as to how to build a team that chats and plays team games regularly, MyGirl? Reply #14. Mar 31 13, 10:14 PM |

@mygirl...I want a team that communicates with each other. Your team ranks #134 on the chat boards. My current team ranks #21. Reply #15. Mar 31 13, 10:45 PM |

We have different threads for different things, one for talking about team games, one for messages about if you're going to be missing for a bit, one for general waffling about stuff in general. So if you want to say something, it's easy to post on a specific thread and have responses related to it. We all actually seem to like each other and enjoy being in a team, and if anyone grumbles then it's listened to and sympathised with rather than getting a snappy response. I don't know whereabouts we are on the chatboard lists, but I got my chatterbox badge a loooong time ago. :) Reply #16. Mar 31 13, 11:29 PM |

Oops, no offense intended. I was just wondering why people join a team and then don't join in on the team chats. I am just trying to get more participation on team chats. I think that is why this thread was started. Reply #17. Apr 01 13, 10:45 PM |

The Team Message Board, MyGirl. Each team has it's own board for specific team players. Chat, play, compare, comment. Tell stories. It's up you. Just start a thread and off you go. Reply #19. Apr 02 13, 1:06 AM |

Or did you mean the section which shows the ranking for chats, which teams talk to each other the most? http://www.funtrivia.com/teamstats.cfm Reply #20. Apr 02 13, 1:08 AM |
