Subject: Boston bombings

For those who don't know yet the Boston marathon finish was bombed twice a little while ago. In addition the Kennedy legal school library also had an incident, unknown if also a bomb. I hope no more incidents occur. Police responded quickly and alerts or up in all major cities and at events today. Thought you might want to know. God Bless and be safe everyone.

A terrible cowardly act by who ever was responsible, if it can be classed as a good thing the bombs went off 2 hours after the race first finishers crossed the line, or there would have been more fatalities and injured.

My thoughts are with the families of the dead and injured, and hope those resposible are caught swiftly.

A horrible tragedy. It appears there are no suspects so far. Everyone is talking about terrorism, but it could just be the work of some sick individual.

Thanks for you thought and opinions so far. I just wanted it known to the site and to send out my prayers to all the victims, families and responders. Seems like they are leaning toward a homegrown terrorist at present, due to the small scale of bombs involved. We shall see and hope the perpetrator is apprehended and convicted and punished. I will never understand why people do these atrocities. For attention? Protest against their own life? Who knows for sure what these monsters are thinking if anything. Be safe everyone and be wary of anything unusual going on around you. Diligence is our best defense. Bryce

This shall not go unpunished. Ask Bin Laden. Ask Timothy McVeigh.

They have announced that there is a need for blood donations, preumably for the many injured who are facing surgery. If you live in the Boston area, and can donate, that would be a great way of helping the victims.

Barbarians! Thankfully, they reported that they do not need blood donations due to to the generosity of donors but would appreciate future donations. Evidently, many runners donated blood. I pray for the injured and those who lost loved ones.

I saw some photos of the bombings while on AOL checking my email & I wish I hadn't seen them. One was so horrible that I cannot get that image out of my head. I actually burst into tears & I usually don't have that strong of a reaction to many things. These kinds of terrible things happen way too often all over the world & nobody is safe anywhere. Prayers for the victims. :(

I wonder if the strategy of the authorities in response to the incidents (shut off all area cell towers) should have been aired by the media?

Cell tower blackouts are a standard response to attacks of this nature to hopefully prevent more remote detonations. This is a known procedure and the reporters disclosure was not of any secret procedures. I was thinking that a nice gesture on our part would be to make blood donations in memory and tribute to victims and survivors. More blood in blood banks is always a boon to someone. Especially with an unknown attacker still at large. Everyone be safe.

Something almost as bad, yesterday people were posting messages all over Facebook saying they didn't believe it had happened and was all set up. How society has fallen so far that more than a handful of the mentally disturbed can even consider such a thing shows we have some serious problems.

When I first heard about it, I was on my last break at work and couldn't believe what I was seeing on our lunchroom tv. It is extremely distressing to think that there are such cruel individuals in the world that want to so violently disrupt such a peaceful, meaningful gathering of people. Hope the culprits are apprehended as soon as possible.

We have as a whole have become more civilized and understanding, even in the last 10 years, which while a monumental achievement leaves us with the new task of how do we now channel the emotions we can't help but feel.

As well as all those directly affected lost by the Boston Bombings I can't help but feel for all those effected and lost from the earthquake that devastated Iran and other parts of the Middle East this week and hope that all goes well for the upcoming London Marathon and the runners, and supportors, in that who will in some ways become a sign of the strength and fortitude of the human spirit by just not being afraid, when just last week they were ordinary people just hoping to complete a 26 mile course or in their best time or watch a race on a hopefully sunny day.

A friend of mine and her husband were standing on the very spot 20 minutes before the explosion. When their friend crossed the finish line they went to their hotel and didn't find out about it until they turned on the TV. She posted pictures on Facebook of their friend finishing the race and you can see the flags hanging down at the top of the photos.

Have you heard of the tragedy in West, Texas? I hope this was an accident and not a retaliation for Waco incident 20 years ago as they fear. I saw footage and the town is flattened. Once again most of the victims appear to be the first responders. A prayer for the injured and fallen and a tribute to those responding to any incident to save others. they never know if they will join the victims or not. Prayers to all and everyone be safe.
