Subject: Playing Children's Games

Posted by: Play3Away
Date: May 03 13

It was suggested that to earn an easy credit on my daily challenges to play a children's game. I felt rather silly but I played the game and got the credit.
I wonder do other 'Adults' play the children's games for easy points or do you think an older individual can learn from playing easier games.
I have noticed other adult players who have scored a lot on children's games but I don't know if they are parents that let kids play on their accounts. Is this cheating as it adds points to an adults scores?

I don't think it's cheating. A lot of our quizzes in the For Children category are just as enjoyable and informative as non-FC quizzes. :)

Many of the quizes are aimed at younger children, so as you have to be over 13 register, they couldn't do anything else but play from someone else's account.

Yes, an older person can learn from these :-)

Not all of the 'Children's' quizzes are easy. Also, for those who are planning to write quizzes, it's helpful to know what's already out there in that category.

As p2g said you can play the FC quizzes to see the type of questions and formations. And no way it is cheating.

Just because it is for children doesn't mean it is easy. There are things in the children's literature that I haven't read. "The Hunger Games" and the Harry Potter books are not easy.

Some of the Daily Challenges require you to play Children's games to qualify for that level.

I played a lot of children's quizzes when I was going for the Endurance Badge and needed fast/easy points when I was tired.

I enjoyed most of them as the ones I chose to play were on Disney films and characters.

The children's games on academic subjects can be very easy, but wait till you get into the others. How many Pokémon cards make a set, and which colours are they. The category itself is rarely a free lunch, believe me!

When I first joined FT I played a lot of children's quizzes to help me get familiar with the site without the 'pressure' of more difficult quizzing. At times I've been mentally tired but still wanted to play so I'd go play some easy quizzes there. There have been a lot of Daily Challenges requiring that you play them.

They have some interesting info in them not found elsewhere. They also can be quite amusing and entertaining to play. I also went that route for my endurance badge since I had a horrible experience with a player topping me and taunting me every time I tried. Had to go the quick and pointy route to beat them. Finally did and almost ran out of childrens questions LOL. Just kidding. Besides all quizzes are for fun and learning.

If you don't know a lot about a certain topic, say how to care for animals or how to cook, learning from the children's quizzes (or children's books!) is an easy way to do so.

I found that playing a few children's quizzes gave me some great pointers when it came to writing some of my own... Quizzes for children, that is!

it's been awhile since I was a child so there are plenty of Disney movies, TV shows, books, games, songs, etc. that I know NOTHING about, so I feel no shame playing children's games

I don't think it's cheating especially not as there's some topics in the For Children section that are not necessarily just for children, like Harry Potter or Disney which are things many adults secretly (or not in some cases!) enjoy and would want to take quizzes on especially those of us who've grown up with them! Also, they can be a good way to learn about a topic you know next to nothing about so would barely be able to get 1 or 2 right on a 'grown up' quiz about it!

In an utterly amazing coincidence - I've just checked out my daily challenges for today and for the difficult one I've got to get 132 answers correct in the For Children category! Looks like I'll be playing lots of Harry Potter quizzes today then!!

I have played a lot of the children's games but some of them are a lot harder than others unless perhaps if you have kids around who share their various interests with you. There are many books and movies mentioned in those categories which I have never read as books nor watched as movies. And, I have only read the Harry Potter books once but have seen the Harry Potter movies each a few times. So, taking Quizzes on Harry Potter books and movies and other very popular subjects helps me in other Challenges which sometimes include kid materials.

Why does 'For Children' exist as a category in Global Challenge?
