I notice these types of things for other hourlies or even TvT. Once there was a religious category one and 9/10 of the questions dealt with Catholicism. As if Catholicism is the embodiment of all religions. I've seen it for other topics too. -Nam Reply #1. May 12 13, 6:17 AM |

Questions come from what is submitted. Some categories are very unbalanced when it comes to what the authors want to write about. We've only really got one answer to this problem, and that is for all of you to write questions on other subjects - we'll be happy to take them. Reply #2. May 12 13, 7:05 AM |

My understanding is that lopsided categories occur when there is an overwhelming number of quizzes in one sub-category. The computer program that selects the questions for a quiz isn't able to differentiate and limit the number of questions on a particular narrow topic. For example, people have complained (a lot) that TV quizzes contain a preponderance of 'Survivor' questions. That's because there are so many quizzes on that show compared to other TV shows that a random computer selection will mean a higher percentage of those questions will get picked. Hope this helps. As far as I can see. there are two main alternatives. Either write loads of non-American quizzes, or move to the USA and get a home advantage. Reply #4. May 12 13, 7:43 AM |

Seems like we've had this discusion before :) It all evens out in the end. I've gotten sets where everything was soccer, cricket, and Eurovision. Reply #5. May 12 13, 10:32 AM |

I'll entertain questions from all over the world and about religions and sports I know nothing about really. After all, you don't learn much if you never leave your own backyard. The majority of folks who visit here (I'm told) are from the US so it stands to reason that a lot of the questions are US related. That being said, I do sort of get annoyed when people complain about "Canadian questions" since most of us are shocked when they show up at all LOL! (and no daver, I'm not talking about you, I know you're just kidding lol). Have fun folks. Life is sometimes shorter than we think. Don't sweat the small stuff : ) Reply #14. May 15 13, 9:18 PM |

I'm still waiting for the quiz on Canadian cities and how many hours apart they are. Can those trips be made quicker if done during a Daylight savings time change? Does Montreal become an hour closer to Vancouver? Reply #15. May 16 13, 9:46 AM |
