Yes, but possibly not as weird as that. When you went to bed, did you know what the date was, and were you thinking about the Titanic - or not till you woke up? Reply #1. Jun 13 13, 2:42 PM |

I usually don't remember my dreams but I have had some weird ones that I have never forgotten. Haven't had any lately, but this topic brings to mind a really terrifying dream that I had years ago. It was right after my mother had died. She had passed away in her bedroom which was right next to mine. I was sleeping & I dreamed that I was floating over my bed because I could look down & see myself laying on my bed, asleep! It's the only way I can explain it. Then something that looked like the Grim Reaper entered the room & was leaning right over my sleeping form, staring intently at me. Somehow I woke up & came out of that dream completely terrified, gasping for air & screaming! I snapped on the light & nothing was there, thank goodness! I didn't sleep again for days after that. I have never had a dream like that before or since & I hope it never happens again because my heart can't take it! Anybody reading my comment, what do you make of it? Reply #2. Jun 14 13, 1:42 AM |

Callie, this happened to my husband once too. As he explained it, he was hovering over the bed looking down on him and myself. Nothing had happened that precipitated this. Therefore we still don't know why. Reply #3. Jun 14 13, 2:02 AM |

A few hours after my husband died, I fell into a deep sleep and into an immediate dream. I was lying on the ground, face down, pinned by a heavy weight that made it hard to breathe and impossible to move. Suddenly the weight lifted. I took a deep breath and sat up, and looked up to see what it was, and there was a double bed floating up into the skies. Looks like it's death that sparks all our freakiest dreams! Reply #4. I remember having a dream not so long ago where I was telling everyone in my dream that I was only dreaming. It wasn't a lucid dream, however. I woke up really confused, and for at least half the day I was still unsure if I was dreaming or not. That was a fun day. Reply #6. Jun 14 13, 10:49 AM |

Of course that is nothing compared to some of the dreams mentioned in this page already. Thanks everyone, I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Reply #7. Jun 14 13, 10:52 AM |

What I would like to know is why that Grim Reaper thing was in my dream! It seemed almost real, like it was really happening & then when I woke up, I had a strong feeling it was nearby, which terrified me! Maybe it's because my mother had just died & death was constantly on my mind at that time? Scariest, most lifelike dream I have ever had & just thinking about it freaks me out after all of these years! :( Reply #8. Jun 14 13, 1:47 PM |

The other night, I dreamed that I knew I was going to die the next day. I wasn't afraid. I would talk to people who would ask me to do things within the next couple of weeks, and I told them I couldn't...that I was going to die tomorrow. I even started going through my closet to rid myself of clothes that I would no longer need, but then I decided that someone else should do it after I was dead. My father died a month ago, and I've been thinking about that, of course; also, I have been thinking of making my own arrangements for when I die. I figured the dream was related in some way. Then I read that dreaming of your own death means a change is coming. Interesting! Reply #9. Jun 14 13, 4:21 PM |

lesley153, Yes, I knew it was Titanic's 101st anniversary because I'd marked it on my calendar. I'd been thinking about it for most of the day & had been watching the 1997 movie just before bed. The dream seemed very real and, upon realizing what time it was when I woke, I chose to have a minutes silence to pay tribute to the unfortunate people who'd lost their lives. Reply #10. My dog friend of 13 years died on a sunday night. My mother died on the next night. Two days later, I'm not sure I was asleep, but I saw a misty dog shape waiting while a vague woman shaped joined her. Then they both walked away. It wasn't scary. More like they were talking a walk together. Almost comforting. Reply #11. Jun 14 13, 11:31 PM |

I think everyone has had weird dreams. I don't pay any attention to them. I don't think they mean anything. Reply #12. Jun 15 13, 12:44 AM |

Circa 1970's................I dreamed that I was walking along a path through woods, beside a man on a horse. He was dressed in chain armour and I had a spear over my shoulder. "Shouldn't we wait for Thane Godwin"?, I asked my companion. "No", he replied, "I think he fell with the King". As we walked, the trees thinned out, the ground became marshy and boggy, until there ahead on an island in the river was a village of thatched huts, connected to mainland by a natural causeway. I woke up. Late 1980's, I read a pamphlet by local archaeology society on about the village my parents had retired to........at the Battle of Hastings, the village was on an island in the river, with a causeway to mainland...........the name of the Saxon Chief was "Godwin". Weird? Reply #13. Jun 15 13, 2:00 AM |

A couple of nights ago, I dreamed my cellar wall caved in and my furnace fell over. I have no idea what that would mean. Reply #14. Jun 15 13, 6:31 AM |
