My closest call in my favorite Difficult Daily Challenge in a long, long time: The target was 13,703 cumulative Global Challenge points in today's games. My actual total was 13,747 points, a squeaky 44 point margin. Whew! My only defense for such a poor showing is that I'm in Division 10 where the questions are hardest and I'm playing Hardcore mode and today's category options were ... suboptimal. Whew! Reply #9822. If anyone is interested, this past global challenge was on the long side, tied for the 4th most games (1524) since 2009 (prior to which it lasted over 2000 games...and that was cut down from the first one in 2005 when there were almost 5000 games). When GC started, there were four sets each day, changing every six hours, so it took some determination and loss of sleep to play all four. Then they were reduced to three sets, before the current two per day, which is much more manageable. Reply #9829. Dec 17 21, 2:14 AM |
