Will there be changes to the gold member stats? I've spent the last few years watching myself climb those. Reply #21. Aug 17 23, 7:23 AM |

A few of them will no longer apply (most obviously of course "highest level" which no longer has a meaning - not sure if any others become redundant). On the other hand, a few new ones should appear. I could think of at least four - most cumulative prestige as well as the sub-values for challenge, authoring and exploration prestige. (Team and Points have a direct relationship between the raw value and their associated prestige) Reply #22. Aug 17 23, 7:29 AM |

The vast majority of GM ranks in your profile will remain exactly as they are. As for the issue of the server not generating detailed quiz playing stats, let me look into it. Reply #23. Aug 17 23, 8:02 AM |

Will the upcoming changes include adding badge tiers? As an example, tier 7 of the Point God badge requires 40-million points. The all-time leader in points has more than 100-million. Also am I correct to assume the current level perks will be replaced by prestige perks? Reply #24. Aug 17 23, 10:09 AM |

"Will the upcoming changes include adding badge tiers? As an example, tier 7 of the Point God badge requires 40-million points. The all-time leader in points has more than 100-million." An extension of tiers is planned, but at a later date. The point issue you point out above will be addressed with the upcoming changes in a more holistic manner. "Also am I correct to assume the current level perks will be replaced by prestige perks?" Yes. The perk system is being completely redone in a pretty epic manner. :) Reply #26. Aug 17 23, 11:13 AM |

All right. I'm sorry if I offend people by pointing this out, but it needs to be pointed out: on multiple games I've played today (not all of them), I'm seeing what to me, an intelligent, thoughtful person, looks like gibberish: When the results page comes up upon completion, near the bottom of the page I see text like this: PRESTIGECHECK game 1, gsince ptsowned: 2 chance: 0.211849445661: roll: 0.343284262692 Now my educated guess is this has *something* to do with the new "prestige points" business that is being alluded to (very vaguely), but as mathematically-minded as I am, I can't make heads or tails of it. It sure is showing up a lot on games I'm playing today though - lots of times. Reply #27. Aug 17 23, 11:15 AM |

I think it must be the Prestige Owl making some test flights. It's hard to understand birds sometimes. Reply #28. Aug 17 23, 12:10 PM |

I have a question regarding the level perks being replaced by prestige perks. Does this mean the current perks will go away or does that mean the levels in which we get these perks will be changed into a certain amount of prestige? Reply #31. Aug 17 23, 2:15 PM |

All current perks will be preserved and awarded at a similar point in the new system. You may notice some differences, in particular with levels over 50 - which mostly affects the current level challenges (soon to be the "lost levels" of the tower - story-wise, halls beyond the 8th that have only very partially been rediscovered.). I could imagine the very top ones - the current 125 and 150 - being a tad more restrictive. However if you qualified for them under the old system, you'll keep them under the new. You may just not be able to claim more tiers until you have reunlocked them. The key perks up to and including "Change the Future" should carry over for the vast majority of players (98%+) unchanged. Boy, there's all so much to wonder about. It reminds me of when a friend says "we're taking you somewhere special for your birthday, but it's a surprise," and you get in the car, blindfolded, with no earthly clue what streets are being navigated -- but you trust the driver, so you know that wherever you're going, it'll be really neat once you get there. Well, that's the only analogy I could think of. By the way, I notice the various (too small to discern what they're meant to look like) icons under usernames in the Chat Boards. Reminds me of those colorful "service stripes" that correspond to various ranks on military uniforms. Reply #34. Aug 17 23, 10:34 PM |

You pretty much got the idea. More prestige = shinier icon. You'll get a larger, full-color view of them soon enough. Some of the items used (aside from geometrical shapes at the lower levels): Crossed swords, an open book, pens, scroll, seals (the wax ones used on letters and certificates, not the animal) and, at the highest levels, an owl. In chat, a silver version designates a regular member, gold a GM and red is editor. Reply #35. Aug 17 23, 11:47 PM |

Very legit - and your progress doesn't seem hampered by it either from looking at your quite impressive icon. "Play a lot of different stuff, don't overthink it and have fun" is actually going to be a very viable - maybe even the best - strategy for advancement and might beat some well-optimized plans simply because you spend more time on quizzes and games and less on your drawing board. Which isn't exactly unintentional - prestige is meant to reflect and reward activity first and trivia skill second. Optimization is helpful in the short run, when you just want those 3 points for the next shiny thing as quickly as possible - but in the long run, just playing is going to be a winner. Reply #37. Looking forward to seeing the changes completely rolled out. Happy to see that Ascended gives the most prestige. I notice that we can see the prestige by clicking into each badge. I'm hoping there will be a place where they are all listed without having to check each one individually. Hopefully I'll have a chance to play more once September rolls around. Reply #38.
