patar333 mine would be Warsaw, Poland or Toronto, Canada Reply #1. Feb 22 09, 7:42 PM Delete - Edit AmonAmarth Hands down, New York City. I spent two years there before recently shooting back home to the south. There's nothing you can't do in The Big Apple. It's like the whole world wrapped up in a few hundred city blocks. I absolutely loved it there. Reply #2. Feb 22 09, 8:00 PM Delete - Edit BigUncleChester I have to go with Glasgow. I live there and for me it is the heart of Scotland. Reply #3. My favorite city that I've visited is San Diego, CA. It is beautiful there and the beaches are nice. Shane, I have to disagree with you about NYC. I can't stand it there. Too dirty and busy for my liking. Reply #5. Feb 22 09, 10:03 PM Delete - Edit deaconblues63 I love New York City. I would go back there at the first opportunity. Reply #6. Caracas, Merida, Puerto La Cruz. I would not include here Maracaibo (the second most important city in Venezuela) because there makes an infernal heat. Reply #4. Feb 25 09, 9:22 AM |

Perth, Western Australia without a doubt, laid back lifestyle, friendly people breathtaking scenery and the beaches? Superb.I have to say it's followed By Sydney where I grew up. It's very busy there now though. I have to ask Staytrules why Canberra? I live here and IMHO it's way down the list. Reply #5. Feb 26 09, 12:41 AM |

I agree with Wycat - definately Perth in Australia - but then I'm biased cause I live here. I just think it has the best of both worlds. We're still small enough that you could get into a country area within an hour from anywhere within the city (less from most places) but its big enough to have all the amenities that a city has. My favourite city in Scotland would have to be Edinburgh, absolutely beautiful place. It's got it all, history, architecture, open spaces. It is definately one of the most interesting cities I have visited. Reply #9. Mar 11 09, 3:45 PM |

My favourite city in Germany is Berlin, not for its beauty, but for its culture and lifestyle. Reply #10. Sep 13 09, 12:48 PM |

Favourite is Galway, because of the street entertainment; the history of the old Claddagh fishing village (even though it's long demolished now); the restfulness of Eyre Square just to sit, read and think; the little cafés and book shops; and the closeness of the phenomenally beautiful Atlantic coast road out by Spiddal and into Connemara. Next is Derry because of the creativity of people there, and their ability to 'think outside the box'. Third (but not last) is Belfast, where I live. Maybe not my favourite but definitely the best, for history, community spirit, courage and defiance - oh, and the Belfast Hills which I see every day and which look cool. Reply #11. Well I live in Sheffield now and it ranks highly, I also lived in Birmingham for four years and that has a very fond place in my heart. But probably my favourite would have to be York. Reply #12. Sep 22 09, 6:10 PM |

Hard to pick favorites, but in the US - Phoenix and Seattle. In Europe, Berlin, London, Rome and Krakow. Possibly the most beautiful city I've ever been to was Lucern. Reply #13. Sep 23 09, 1:05 PM |

As a city goes somewhere pleasant to live and visit i would say York. I have lived there in the past and my brother lives there and i enjoy going there and have had some great nights out there in the past. For shopping i would say Leeds is fantastic and i enjoy going there once in a while. Reply #15. Oct 25 09, 10:58 AM |

Couldn't live in a little town. No way no how, not with everyone in everyone's business. Favorite city? Los Angeles/Orange County. No question. There is no other place in the world where you can be so close to mountains and ocean. It is very easy to surf and snowboard in the same day. I am 5 minutes from the beach and 50 minutes from the nearest ski area. Oh and did I mention it's still 80 degrees here in late October? :) I could be talked maybe into living in Central Coast NSW in between Newcastle and Byron Bay as the waves are ridiculously good. However, I need to be near both. Surfing does supercede every other priority but I do love to surf and I simply cannot live away from the ocean. However, I also love to snowboard and need to be close to that too. And as far as I've seen, Southern California is the only place in the world where you have the two in such close proximity to each other. It does get crowded but if you are in the flow and you know what's up, it's very easy to avoid those crowds. Reply #17. Oct 27 09, 1:09 AM |

Schoonie - couldn't live in a little town either. My preferred spot is where my nearest neighbour is around 7 km away...further would be better, but I can cope with 7...me, the dogs and the stock.. Reply #18. Oct 27 09, 3:51 AM |

Yeah, 7 km... My neighbors are 7 feet away but it's chill. They're good, tolerant neighbors. Plus, with the nearby amenities, very liveable! Everything I need is within a walk/skate/bike away and the rest, not too much further. Probably get gas only every 2-3 weeks. Not too shabby! :) Reply #19. Oct 27 09, 3:57 AM |
