For me, my favourite locations for rest and relaxation Lake of the Woods in Northwestern Ontario and any of the beaches on Lake Winnipeg (especially Victoria Beach and Gimli). Reply #1. Sep 07 09, 10:11 PM |

Captain Cook's Monument. It's a local landmark here, you can see it for miles and miles, it's like a large obelisk right on top of a hill, in the middle of Forestry Commission land. I can't get up there anymore, it's a good hike, so it's been years, but the view from the top is just lovely - to me anyway - it's "home" :-D Reply #2. Sep 10 09, 4:08 PM |

Along the banks of the upper Thames. It travels through some very peaceful places away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Reply #5. Sep 14 09, 9:49 AM |

We have a lot of beaches where I live, so that's something I like to do. Hilton Head is kind of nice, and there are some private beaches that I just love. I also love the mountains. Reply #7. Sep 15 09, 2:58 PM |

Any beach is nice. Used to live in Hilton Head and miss it, but the desert and the surrounding mountains offer wonderful places to get away from it all. Reply #8. Sep 18 09, 9:58 PM |

Great question Daithi. Late last year, I was fortunate enough to take the family on a round the world holiday. Of all the places we stayed in, Hawaii was the 'bees knees'. A close second was Victoria, British Columbia. It should be mentioned that every destination has the potential to be the best/worst, depends on what you make of it. Reply #9. Jan 03 10, 9:23 AM |

For a short (half day trip) on the back of my son's bike to Mt Mee - the National Park there is great for a walk. Natural bush and lovely waterfall. :) In the other direction I love the ride down to Nimbin. Takes almost all day once we ride and have a walk around, always with a few stops on the way there and back. Reply #10. Jan 05 10, 2:13 AM |
