For our honeymoon we travelled from near Albany on the south coast of Western Australia to Kununurra at the top of the state, plus a lot of miles in between - highlights of that trip were:
seeing crocodiles in the wild at Minnie Creek
finding a herd of wild buffalo drinking at a billabong
catching fish on 80 mile Beach
seeing the bar at Marble Bar - both the geologic formation and the one in the Ironclad Hotel !
Seeing the "Staircase to the Moon" at Broome
Visiting several communities in the Kimberley

What a trip... what a honeymoon ! Only about 8,000 km in all.. but saw some awesome country.

My longest trip was as a five year old. In 1964, my family emigrated from England to Australia on the cruise-ship "Fair-Sky". As we went through the Suez Canal, my father said we were nearly half way to the land of Oz.

When we passed over the equator, some-one got dressed up as King Neptune and we had a party.

It took around five weeks to complete the journey.

We drove to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from California and we went through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and North Carolina. It was great seeing the different landscapes along the way. I really liked northern Oklahoma, Arkansas, and the Smokey Mountains. I have never seen as many beautiful golf courses as there were around Myrtle Beach.

Mine was in 1984, we started from Wyndham (in the Kimberley) Western Australia, and went to Perth Western Australia via the East Coast. Took six months. (Absolutely brilliant).

Mine wasn't in Australia, it was Sydney to London. A long time at the best of times, but the plane broke down in Singapore and got delayed for hours at the airport.

Oops... I thought I clicked on General- this IS geography!

My bad. My longest trip was from Pennsylvania to Florida. Not long at all, except I drove.

My longest trip by car was from South FL to Philadelphia PA when I was small. My mom was and still is afraid of flying so we drove the 18 hours and left at 2 a.m.; that was a drag. We also did the same to MO where my aunt lives. The longest trip by plane was from Souuth F:L to Denver CO which was about 4 hours. My boyfriend traveled to Egypt back in 2007. All together it was about 25 hours.
