Subject: Any advice re Sabah?

Posted by: MotherGoose
Date: Apr 07 11

I've just booked my holiday to Sabah (specifically Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan).

Have any of you been there? If so, any advice would be welcome re things to do, places to see, and more importantly what NOT to see and do, etc.

Welcome to Malaysia, MotherGoose. :)

If you like animals, Sepilok is the place for you. There're many cute orang utans there. If you like jungle trekking and mountain climbing, Mount Kinabalu is a must. If you're lucky, you'll get the chance to see some exotic pitcher plants and the Rafflesia.

Sabah is also known for its many beautiful and pristine islands. Sipadan, Sapi, Manukan, just to name a few.

You can also take a ferry to go to Labuan, which is another more developed island.
