In "Twilight", who do you like better? Edward or Jacob? Or both? And why? I love them both but I'm more towards Jacob because hes so funny.

Bella belongs with Edward. I don't like Jacob because he complains way too much. A good example of this would be in Breaking Dawn... he's there at their house and they're trying to be as hospitable and nice as they can to him, and he just won't accept it. I can't really decide, Edward is sweet, kind, and almost smothering. Jacob is funny, adventerous, and just a little careless. Yet, bella is made for both. At one point, Jacob says something like, "And you know what the worst part is? In a world where vampires and wolves didn't exist, we'd be together." And Bella knows it's true.... Reply #4. From an older person's perspective, I think they are both a pair of manipulative control freaks. I think the main reason they are both attracted to Bella is that she is so easily manipulated and is very suggestible. You may not, but clearly a lot of people do; as witness the responses on this page alone. Asking "who cares?" is potentially insulting to those who do, and it will not help bring back the robust, intelligent debate that is now so sadly absent from these pages, unless you make the effort to say why you don't care. I read the Twilight series a while back and I'm not as enthused about them now as I used to be, but I'd definitely have to choose Jacob over Edward. Part of it is the fact that he is so much more down-to-earth, not quite as scarily controlling while still being protective, and the fact that he was there to help Bella through a time in which she was practically a zombie. Edward strikes me as the typical misanthropic vampire despairing over his lost soul and his inability to be with the one he loves....boring. Same story that has been told a hundred times over.
