Once in a while, but in my line of work I recommend people to do it as a form of therapy or simply because is an easy way for them to "read". Reply #2. Feb 19 13, 4:10 PM |

I get all my audiobooks through the library. You've got to have a good reader too--I've stopped listening to a few books just because the reader was bad. Reply #3. Feb 24 13, 8:03 AM |

Listening to the audio book. Killing Lincoln by Bill O'REILLY & Martin Dugard. Read by Bill O'Reilly. More to the killing of Lincoln than I ever knew, it's a good book. Reply #4. Feb 24 13, 2:46 PM |

Yes, I use a site called LibriVox, where people read books of their choice which are in the public domain and you can download them legally and free of charge - my favourite price :) There are thousands to choose from and most are really well read - They are star-rated according to readers votes. Now I've got Cry, the Beloved Country. Michael York reads it, and his voice is very good. Reply #7. Apr 04 13, 7:03 PM |

I listen to audiobooks in German because it really helps me to learn the language. I usually do it when I go somewhere alone or when I work out, as it's more interesting than listening to music. Reply #9. Dec 16 13, 3:48 PM |

I tend to listen now in cars. Reading is impractical and downright stupid when a person is driving (unless it's road signs). And I can't read for very long if I'm a passenger as I get car sick if I read (it's better on me if I'm reading in long, straight stretches than if there's curves involved as I get sicker faster when going through curves while reading) Back in my early to mid twenties I used to listen to audiobooks when I went to sleep. I'd get done with reading a chapter or so of whatever book I was reading then pop-in a book on tape into my tape player, turn the volume way down low, and just listen as I went to sleep. Reply #10. I started a long time ago while driving long distances to conferences and meetings in the UK. Cassettes mostly and there was a swap arrangement with motorway service station shops. I think then I mostly listened to classics. These days audiobooks are part of my reading along with ebooks and print books. I still enjoy classics but increasingly sci fi and fantasy seem to be my preferred listening. Currently on the Red Rising series and loving it. Reply #11. May 11 25, 6:33 PM |
