My fav. childrens author would have to be Beatrix Potter. I used to read her stories for hours on end. I still have that exact same book. Reply #1. Apr 28 09, 7:31 AM |

I've always loved Dr. Seuss. I know that sounds a bit clichéd, but it's true. "That Sam-I-am! That Sam-I-am! I do not like that Sam-I-am!" Reply #2. Apr 28 09, 9:02 AM |

Dr. Seuss, without a doubt. His books are so classic, and will hopefully never go out of style. I work at a used bookstore, and everytime we get the Seuss books in, I put them on display. Within an hour, they have been sold. Reply #3. Apr 28 09, 10:51 AM |

JK Rowling and the Harry Potter books are really good. I like the 3 investigator series. There were 3 or 4 different authors who wrote books in this series. Reply #6. May 04 09, 7:51 PM |

Well... For the age group of 6 to 9, 10: Enid Blyton, C. S. Lewis. For the age group of 10 to 12, 13: C. S. Lewis, J. K. Rowling. For the afe group of 13 to 15, 16 or a little more: Christopher Paolini, Eoin Colfer, Phillip Pullman, J. R. R. Tolkein, etc. As a matter of fact, from 12 year old onwards, we're not considered kids, are we? Reply #9. May 25 09, 12:42 AM |

Aesop......... because of the moral lessons in his animal stories.......... And those not popular children's book authors who made the nice and wholesome illustrations in the books they authored. Reply #13. Jun 28 09, 6:15 PM |

These were my favorites from when I was a kid (in no particular order): Dr. Seuss Eoin Colfer - Artemis Fowl series Garth Nix - Keys to the Kingdom series JK Rowling - Harry Potter series Brian Jacques - Redwall series Christopher Paolini - Inheritance series I consider Narnia (C.S. Lewis) and His Dark Materials (Philip Pullman) to be fantastic children's literature of a much higher calibur than the works listed above. As for Tolkien, I wouldn't even consider him a candidate for this thread. His masterpieces are far above and beyond everything else posted here. Reply #19. Jul 31 09, 11:33 AM |
