He appears to be even less technologically aware than I am, to accidentally send a very compromising photograph of himself to 45,000 people instead of the one person he intended it for. Although he might get tips on how to be a leader from Silvio Berlusconi. They seem to have certain interests in common. Reply #3. Apr 11 13, 5:15 PM |

Oops. I was going to say, Berlusconi may be a dirty old man, but he's not some kind of sick pervert. Actually, I think Weiner might make a fine mayor of New York City, or Sodom-On-The-Hudson as we Midwesterners call it. Reply #5. Apr 11 13, 7:02 PM |

Huma Abedin, Weiner's wife, is standing by her man. “I love him, I have forgiven him, I believe in him, and, as we have said from the beginning, we are moving forward.” She also said that Weiner is “trying to be the best dad and husband he can be.” Abedin is a long-time aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, so maybe she got some advice from her. Why can't I find women as tolerant as this? http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/anthony-weiner-admits-he-sent-more-lewd-messages-used-pseudonym-carlos-danger/2013/07/24/c8009508-f461-11e2-9434-60440856fadf_story.html Reply #11. Given his past character display I think Weiner is completely delusional regarding his worth to the people of New York City. Reply #12. Jul 24 13, 3:53 PM |

Unfortunately, the alternative to Weiner is Christine Quinn, a lesbian activist, who has been involved in a few scandals herself. She's a career politician who has never had a real job. Evidently these two are the best NYC can come up with. And don't forget Eliot Spitzer, the former New York governor who was forced to resign after it was found he had paid $100K to prostitutes, notably Ashley Alexandra Dupré. He's running for the post of New York City Comptroller. One of his opponents is Kristen Davis, the former madame who supplied him with prostitutes. Not sure I'd want either of them looking after my money. Never a dull moment in the Big Apple. Reply #16. Jul 24 13, 8:28 PM |

The latest with Weiner is his campaign manager has quit. Weiner, however, insists he will not drop out of the race. He's either massively arrogant or just plain stupid! If I were a New Yorker I think I'd be tempted to write in my cat. Reply #17. Jul 29 13, 6:32 AM |

There are many candidates, from both major parties, running for Mayor, not just the above mentioned Weiner and Quinn (who is the City Council President, and highly qualified, whatever her sexual preferences). These include the current Public Advocate, and the current Comptroller, as well as a former Comptroller, and a former Borough President. NYC will be just fine :-) Reply #18. Jul 29 13, 12:55 PM |

Well, I guess Quinn is highly qualified if you think someone who has never had a job outside politics and has a habit of diverting the odd $5 million or so of taxpayer money into slush funds to pay off her political cronies is the person you want running your city. Of course, this is a place that supports banning soft drinks, and thinks the way to fight drugs is to give addicts free needles. In the meantime, despite falling poll numbers, the aptly named Mr. Weiner isn't givig up. "Quit isn't the way we roll in New York City," he says. http://www.myfoxny.com/story/22972529/weiner-video-quit-isnt-the-way-we-roll Reply #19. Jul 31 13, 8:04 AM |

Part of this idiot's problem, aside from the obvious, is that he does not have a decent background and zero significant accomplishments as a Congressman to point to. The man was known only for screeching like a baby at the podium, blathering ridiculous scare tactics, saying things to the effect of Republicans want you to die if you get sick, Republicans hate women and minorities etc... He was also known for hollering at his staff regularly. Very recently he got into an argument with his elderly Republican opponent at, of all places, an AARP (American Association of Retired People) convention and insulted him by referring to him as "Grandpa". Just a complete idiot and bag of wind. Reply #20. Aug 09 13, 4:23 AM |
