I am pursuing the three Question Quest badges--Is anyone having difficulty writing questions or getting questions rated?

Can you be more precise please and state what your actual problem is? Do you just encounter long waits in editing and before the question goes to the New Question Game or is there anything actually going wrong?

For your information - currently the time between a question getting approved and it getting played in the New Questions is anywhere between four and eight weeks depending on category due to an increase in single question authoring without more people playing the New Question Game.

Okay, I have a number of questions that have been accepted. The question is 'Why haven't they been rated?'
There has been a time lag between writing and rating. Usually, I do not have such a time lag? Should there be a delay? I might be slightly interested in getting these rated. Thank you. Guten Tag!

There is no time lag at all for quizzes - once they are accepted they get made public and played. But single questions go to a pool from which the questions for the New Question Game are drawn. Each day a new set of questions is used, and these are the ones that get rated. Questions stay in that game until they have received enough ratings to be re-categorised appropriately(I don't know the number required for this), at which time they are removed from the New Question pool and placed into play in the other timed games (or removed from play if they are not successful), to be replaced by more questions that are waiting to be played and rated.. New questions have to wait in line to get into the game, and they currently wait for a number of weeks for that to happen.

To all authors - the above inquiry isn't the only one we recently got with regards to Question Quest wait times. The reason for this is simply that since November, we have been getting more submissions while play on the New Question Game has slightly declined.

So bottom line - the system currently takes in slightly more questions than it processes, resulting in the backlog building up instead of whittling away. That's something neither editors nor administrators have any power over and it is something that affects all players (although certain categories are worse hit than others).

If you want to help the situation, the cure is a simple one: Play the New Question Game every day and make sure you reliably rate the questions. The more plays we get, the faster questions get through the game and the more backlog we can clear out. You are not only doing yourself but all other authors a favor by spending that one minute every day.

It must be an obvious point but I never realised the increased wait time for questions to get played was linked to lower player turnout. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks for the responses--inform you team members to play the new question game--FT is the best.

Keep rating those questions please? There is quite a waiting period. Thank you.

Can anyone tell me whether or not question quest badges are 'lost' on the occasions that the stats change? For example: I have currently got 72 questions (of 92) that have been played and rated. Of these 57 (79% I think) are rated as good but do not fall within the 60-90% of player success. If I eventually win this badge and then my questions have a particularly fraught time of it, do I lose the badge?

Not very well explained, but it's been a long, long day

You do never lose the badge even if all your questions were to fall out of the range. The only badge on the entire site that is withdrawn when a member no longer meets the conditions is the team leader one.
